Datou
Name : Datou Variety: Domestic Shorthair Gender: Male Weight: 5.1 kg;
Treatment plan: A nasogastric feeding tube was placed, and autologous PRP was injected into the oral mucosa intraoperatively.
Summary: This case involved severe caudal stomatitis in an immunocompromised patient (FIV-positive) with co-infections (Mycoplasma and Calicivirus). After failed conventional extraction therapy, autologous PRP oral mucosal injection achieved significant results. PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) promotes tissue repair through growth factor release (PDGF, VEGF, etc.), while its anti-inflammatory properties may suppress excessive immune response. Appetite returned 3 days post-injection, and mucosal swelling resolved within one week. PRP rapidly alleviates pain and accelerates healing, making it particularly suitable for immunocompromised individuals (avoiding corticosteroid/immunosuppressant risks). This therapeutic approach provides novel insights for refractory stomatitis, demonstrating the integration of precision medicine and individualized management.
